Welcome Skippers,
well.. we have a blog site for Alumni's (even if it's unofficial). What do we do with it? Your suggestions are most appreciated.
What memories do you have when someone mentions Mercy High School? Here is what comes up in my mind immediately..
19th Avenue, M Oceanview , Skirt check, Tater Tots, 4th Floor swimming pool, Ms. Gleason (she always had the best shoes!), Typing class , sun tanning behind the tennis court, Sister Estelle (she locked the door when you were late)..Ceramics class..Anxieties about being accepted..
ok these are the things I remember fondly about Mercy High.
Here's your chance to start a post for.. add a comment to this or suggest another topic and I can start new threads for all to chime in.
If you just want me to start a blog for a specific class group, comment what year and we can get that started too.
Cheers. eva

Okay, I'll go first. Hi from Beth Lapachet. I'm living in the city and working as a physical therapist at Kaiser San Francisco. I'm married to Brian Byrne who I met on my intersession trip to Yosemite our senior year. I have two kids, Kieran is 10 and goes to St. Thomas Apostle in the richmond. Michaela is 16 and a junior at Mercy! She just wrapped up the fall play. I'm still in touch with Manuela Mangaoil (now DeJong) and saw Cybil Kassner (now O'Leary) and Sue Cagniglia about a year ago. Time to arrange another get together...
Did anyone see Monica Denevan in the pink section a while ago? Her studio was featured in an article about the city wide open studios event. Amazing photography from Burma.
Anyway, I never seem to be able to go to the reunions but would love to hear what others are up to.

Hey Beth,
How cool to hear from someone! OMG, you have a junior at Mercy! I'm hoping my girls can go there in a few years.
I have an 11 year old and a 9 year old at St Anne's in the city and then a 4 year old boy who will start next year! Time flies by fast though!
Hope we get a few more in here from ALL Mercy classes to chat away....
Thank you so much Eva! This is a wonderful gift that came out of a computer glitch gone bad from al of the people who's comments went through as if they hit "reply all". Some people were extremely offended to be getting so many emails from so many "Skippers"!
I found it to be a gift to be able to reconnect with some of my classmates from 1975!
Can you add a section for each year to be able to blog back and forth??
You are a gift to us all!!!
Thank you!
Sue
Hi, I'm a young Skipper (class of 1995) and I've been enjoying life in Southeast Texas with my husband and 2 young boys. I stay at home with my youngest (aged 2) while my oldest has started full day Kindergarten this year. I miss San Francisco at times, mainly in the Summer, but I'm also getting into the life of a small Texas town where Football is king.

Good to reconnect with people. Hmm, some of my memories from Mercy definitely include hanging with Eva Woo. So good to hear how you are doing. I'm up here in Santa Rosa running an Attorney Support Service with my husband for the past 10 years. I have two daughters, 20 and 17. Hard to believe how fast time flies. Sorry I missed the 25 year reunion for '82. We should maybe have mini-reunions. Just casual meetings somewhere, no pressure or big presentation. Just hanging out. That would be fun.
